ISLAMABAD: The federal Government has decided to sell off property and assets of various federal ministries and associated departments significance trillions of rupees with a sight to making revenue to support the country’s crippling economy and infrastructure.
The cabinet also decided to change the procedures for appointment of the heads of departments of different government organizations, empowering federal ministers to appoint them.
Federal Minister Information Fawad Chaudhry told a press conference that the government has decided to sell off properties and assets of federal ministries and associated departments which were not in use and not generating significant revenue.
He further said that Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has sought lists of all properties of ministries for disposal. He also added that the ministries had already concluded their lists and have forwarded to the federal cabinet for further decision.
