What Not to Do while Decorating your Space

Designing a space is a highly personal opinion. There is no one rule that everyone should follow while decorating interior. Our homes should look as different as our individual personalities.

While decorating or redecorating your space by yourself, you must be aware of do’s and dont’s of the process. There are several mistakes which people do when decorating their homes which we have tried to pen down through this blog post.

1. Don’t choose furniture randomly

A lot of people don’t really know how to choose the furniture when they’re decorating a space. You have to be careful when choosing the furniture because if it’s either too big or too small for the space then it won’t look good. Also avoid putting all furniture up against the walls as it makes your space look undersized.

2. Too many patterns are not good at all

Mixing and matching the colors and prints is fun to do. But too many patterns and prints can make your room suffocated. Choosing multiple textures and prints can disturb the harmony of your room.

3. Don’t display everything you have

When people collect stuff or when they receive a decoration as a gift they immediately want to put it up for display. But just because you have lots of decoration items doesn’t mean that they all look good together. In fact, it’s best if you filter the things you display.

4. Don’t forget the green part

Plants make your home cool and enhance its beauty. Without using them in home decor, your home may look stuffy. Adding a little green can clear toxins in the air and breathe new life to your home space.

5. Don’t ignore entrance

Entrance is the space that immediately grasps attention of the guests. So don’t ignore this area. Spend money to make this area stand out and appealing. It really creates a sense of openness and lightness in a space.

6. Avoid too small rugs

Throwing small rug in the center of a big room literally damages the aesthetics of a room. Larger area rugs can be expensive, so use as large rugs as works for your budget.
